Since the beginning, Ender has what you would call a loaner or the odd one out. There is a group of the boys his age and it turns out the leader of that group, Bernard, had his arm broken by Ender on the way to the military camp. He has been braking there group apart non-violently this time and is sending fake messages to the boys and making fun of Bernard and making his own group but, in the middle of his work is sent to a different group.
So far, Ender hasn’t been able to really resolve any conflict. He is still hated by practically everyone, they still tease him and trip him and try to make his life as miserable as possible. He still struggles with his teachers, who continue to push him and his army to the extreme. His life is awful, and yet he still fights on to lead his army to victory after victory.
Ender trains his new soldiers at battle school that have no experience. Teachers throwing obstacles at him, but Ender keeps his cool and trains his army. They manage to stay undefeated. Many changes were made to the game that made Ender very angry. But he keeps on fighting and eventually gets tired of it.
So gar in the book, Ender is "recruiting" launchies, and turning them into soldiers to train with. He also is observing and developing ways with which to counter enemy attacks in the battleroom. However, he seems to have the entire battleschool against him, with the exception of the launchies he's recruiting, and Petra, a girl in Salamander army.
